FiberSeal™

FiberSeal™ [Hydrogenated Castor Oil / Sebacic Acid Copolymer] is a one-of-a-kind ingredient that helps to smooth and seal cuticles that have been lifted due to treatments, heat tools and environmental stress.

A close-up of smooth, creamy white substance with glossy highlights and soft folds, resembling yogurt, lotion, or whipped cream.

FiberSeal™ is a naturally derived, high-molecular-weight molecule obtained from castor oil and engineered to seal down raised or damaged cuticles, typically caused by coloring, bleaching and other treatments. It binds to the hair cuticle, smoothing each strand and offering long-lasting performance. Its excellent substantivity and high refractive index help to intensify shine.

By sealing the cuticle, FiberSeal™ can help restore the healthy feel and appearance of hair, while shielding it from future damage.

The hair cuticle is the outermost layer of each strand, protecting the underlying cortex from environmental stressors, locking in moisture and giving hair its smoothness, shine and manageability.

Heat styling, chemical treatments, pollution and brushing can roughen, lift, crack or chip away the cuticle scales. Once damaged, hair becomes:

  • Porous + dry: Gaps let moisture escape or enter too easily, leading to brittleness or frizz.

  • Dull: Raised or missing scales scatter light instead of reflecting it smoothly.

  • Prone to tangling + breakage: Rough cuticle edges snag against neighboring fibers, increasing friction and knotting.

  • Less elastic + more fragile: Without intact scales, hair can’t stretch and rebound properly under tension.

  • Faster to fade in color-treated hair: Open cuticles allow dye molecules to wash out more quickly.

  • More vulnerable to UV, pollutants + heat: Aggressors penetrate deeper, compounding internal damage.

  • Texturally uneven + hard to style: Coarse or wiry patches make smooth blowout or sleek looks difficult to achieve.

FiberSeal™ helps address these issues and reinforces the hair cuticle by forming an invisible thin, flexible film that directly targets and locks down lifted or damaged cuticle scales. Hair treated with FiberSeal™ emerges smoother and better-protected from further cuticle damage over time.
